Redhill Regeneration Fueling Growth in Professional Job Market
This month has seen the completion of a major part of the Redhill Regeneration scheme: Warwick Quadrant. Opened this October, the town’s gained a triple-sized Sainsbury’s, a brand new 24-hour gym, Travelodge hotel and significant boost in parking.
In total, four major projects will transform Redhill town centre over the period 2017-19:
- Warwick Quadrant *Completed*
An enormous re-development expanding Sainsbury’s into a flagship store and adding numerous new and improved facilities. The project also involved a re-landscaping of part of the town’s pedestrian zone.
- Marketfield Way *Completion 2019*
Multiplex cinema, restaurant and café development which will radically improve the leisure offer of Redhill, along with new retail space and apartments.
- Redhill Station *Starts 2018*
Adding a new platform to this busy mainline station, plus concourse improvements and new passenger facilities.
- Former Liquid and Envy Site *Public Consultation Stage*
Converting this long-closed and crumbling nightclub next to the station into modern and high spec flats.
All told, the town’s going to look unrecognisable in the next couple of years. Exciting news for Redhill residents (and for us “Ambrans”, who are based here!) But as the town’s regeneration programme picks up pace, there are increasing opportunities for professionals in Redhill as demand for talent climbs.
Creating Professional Job Opportunities in Redhill
Redhill’s professional job market is thriving, and the town’s redevelopment will surely boost employment prospects and career opportunity yet further.
Finance and Insurance industries are dominant across the borough. AXA (insurance), Travelers Insurance, Total Gas & Power, Santander, Lombard and Balfour Beatty all operate significant bases here in Redhill.
In fact, the borough of Reigate & Banstead boasts the highest median full time earnings in Surrey, only marginally below those of central London rates. Though we place candidates all over Surrey and Sussex, here our doorstep is an undeniable hotspot.
Prospects for professionals are growing at pace. Projects like Warwick Quadrant and Marketfield Way – signed off years ago by local council – have already begun a domino effect, encouraging developers to construct new offices, which in turn attracts companies to set up operations, which in turn creates job opportunities.
So if you’re thinking about where to look for your next career move (or planning an escape from the London commute…) our money’s on Redhill!
